In front of you the Adriatic sea<\/strong><\/h2>\n

With its thousand shades ranging from white to turquoise<\/h3>\n

On the one hand you can admire the sanctuary of Madonna dell’Altomare<\/strong> with the Statue of Our Lady once sacked by the Turks and then found in Otranto on a piece of wood. The Feast of Our Lady is celebrated in September with a sea procession. Otranto<\/strong> is a city rich in history and culture, so many people have come
\nand each of them has left a trace that draws our architecture.<\/p>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”13″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”196″ img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]In the center of the ancient village you can find the Cathedral of Otranto<\/strong>, the Church of Santa Maria Annunziata<\/strong>, an artistic place of great value and a religious symbol of the city; here you can admire the famous pavement Mosaic<\/strong> which is an extraordinary artwork depicting the tree of Life. Within the Church you will notice the relics of 800 Otranto martyrs massacred by the Turks in 1480. From August 13th to 15th, the stands and typical Salento illuminations set up on the seafront and across the center will become the scenery for the patron saints’ festival<\/strong>. You can admire the magical fireworks on the sea<\/strong> from the balcony of the B&B.<\/p>\n

Going towards Palasc\u00eda Lighthouse<\/strong>, the most Eastern point of Italy<\/strong>, you can notice the Church of San Francesco<\/strong> where the Turks killed Otranto people.
